We went to the garbage dump and found broken skates, cut them in half and attached them to some scrap wood. We mounted the universal joint from an old windsurfing board, and quickly discovered foot-straps were not optional.

To steer the board, the rider needs to transmit a significant moment through their feet. We added straps made of pipe support wire wrapped in shop rags, and they did the trick!

Enjoy the short video of my crash landing!
